K-9s
(B.A.R.K.) is a team comprised of a group of
volunteers, with specially trained dogs, dedicated to assisting in
the search for missing persons, living or deceased. B.A.R.K. is
available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to respond to local,
State, and Federal law enforcement. Our handlers are not paid for
their work, or for the training and support of their dogs. There is
no charge for their services. B.A.R.K. is a non-profit organization
whose members incur all expenses associated with training and
operations.
All deployable K-9 teams are certified by the
National Narcotic Detector Dog Association (NNDDA) or the National
Association of Police Work Dogs (NAPWDA). Upon request, our team can
deploy discreetly and will refer all media questions regarding the
search to the LE agency in charge. All K-9 handlers are
self-sufficient in the field.
Our team is comprised of canines trained to detect all stages of
human decomposition from recently deceased humans to historical
graves, scattered bones, items contaminated with human fluids,
victims of fire and disaster and drowning victims to name a few.
Some of our K-9s are also cross-trained for tracking, trailing
and/or air scenting to assist in finding lost or missing live
people.
WE DO NOT ADOPT OR TAKE UNWANTED DOGS, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR LOCAL
HUMANE SOCIETY OR ANIMAL CONTROL IF YOU HAVE A DOG THAT YOU CAN NO
LONGER KEEP. WE REGRET THAT WE CANNOT HELP WITH THE PLACEMENT OF
UNWANTED PETS.
